This water-based serum is ideal for dry and sensitive skin.

Lactic Acid has a pKa of 3.8 and pKa is the most important aspect to consider in formulating with acids. pKa implies acid availability. When pKa is close to pH, there is an ideal balance between salt and acidity, maximizing the effectiveness of the acid and reducing irritation.

Like a lot of people I started breaking out badly along my chin and lower face when I had to start wearing a mask daily during quarantine. I discovered this, and used nightly along with vitamin c moisturizing serum, it has greatly reduced new breakouts and begun to clear up old acne scars as well.
Be aware it's an exfoliator so it will dry out the skin to some degree and needs to be used with a moisturizer or serum for best effects.
